Ice Ice baby!

Read on for an excellent at home remedy for treating some common skin concerns.

Can you get yours hands on some ice and a thin cloth while in lockdown? Im hoping most people can (don’t worry this isn’t a post where I’m trying to sell ice to you!)

A lot of people won’t know about the wonderful things ice can do for the skin including;

  • Reducing pore size - Those who have oily skin suffer with an excess of sebum and debris which blocks the pores and makes them have an enlarged appearance. Ice helps to shrink and tighten pores by unclogging them.

  • Helps fight spots and acne - if you feel a new spot starting to develop or wake up with a little friend on your face, hold an ice cube on until it feels numb. This will help with the inflammation and hopefully stop it from getting any larger.

  • Helping circulation - The ice constricts blood vessels, drawing blood away from the surface of the skin. This then reduces inflammation and swelling.

  • Reducing puffiness under the eyes - and who doesn’t want that?

  • Gives skin a healthy natural glow by boosting circulation.

How to do it?

Use 4 to 5 ice cubes in a thin clean cloth (a muslin cloth or similar)

And gently massage your face in circular motions for a minute or 2 (never more than 10-15)

Focus on the

  • jawline

  • chin

  • lips

  • nose

  • cheeks

  • forehead

Let me know how you get on if you try it!
